December 2020

We come to the end of the most unusual, weird year 2020. A year in which we adapted and experienced many mixed emotions. All of us had no choice but to accept the massive changes in the world. It is exhausting staying in, staying away from and avoiding others. It seems never ending. As Quilters we have been resilient, as our hobby has kept us occupied with something or the other.

Giving is a good remedy for these trying times. This is exactly what some of members have been doing, making baby quilts for donation to children’s homes. The Guild donated 27 quilts in September and 17 quilts on 21st December along with blankets. THANK YOU to all the members who made this possible.

A demonstration on quilting with Templates/rulers on domestic machines was given by Rohini Desai via zoom. It was attended by 24 members.

Our End of Year Party via Zoom was quite successful with about 16 members in attendance. Obviously, this was nowhere near an actual party; all had a good time playing games related to quilting. A Thank You goes out to Lynn who organized and conducted the Bingo. Most of the members came with either a hat or scarf. Shashi won the prize for best head gear.

Let us say Goodbye to 2020 and Welcome 2021 with positivity. My Best Wishes to you all for a Happy Holiday Season and please stay Healthy and Safe.
