Exhibitions

The KQG held its first international exhibition in Ontario, Canada from October 20th to 25th 2008. The Zimbabwe Quilt Guild also contributed quilts to the Exhibition together with several Womens' Groups in Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda. Over 170 quilts with African themes were on display.

Four teachers from Kenya and Zimbabwe joined up with two Canadian teachers to give quilting classes at the Exhibition and there were twice daily talks on the history of quilting and fabrics in East Africa. The classes and talks were well attended.

About 20 members of the KQG traveled to Canada to assist with the Exhibition and meet North American quilters.
